Motor vehicle accidents: California firefighter killed

Wild fires in California have been especially bad this year. Firefighters and others involved in battling the fires know that they risk their lives doing what they do. They may not expect to lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents commuting to the fires. That was the case for a contractor coming from Yuba who was going to be helping with the containment effort.

The man was driving westbound on Interstate 80 in the vicinity of Blue Canyon on his way to assist in fighting a fire near the Blue Canyon Airport early on a recent Tuesday morning. He was killed in a collision with another vehicle. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The man was a bulldozer operator and bulldozers are frequently utilized in fore containment. He was married and had four children. The children ranged in ages from 9 to 16.

The sudden loss of a loved one is never easy to bear. Whether a person dies in the performance of his or her job or in a horrific car crash, the family and loved ones left behind may experience feelings of grief and shock. The loved ones of the deceased will want to find out what may have caused the motor vehicle accidents that resulted in their loved one's death. Consulting with an experienced personal injury attorney may be able to yield some answers. In California, a lawyer can review the facts of the accident and can determine if a civil suit against the parties deemed responsible is a viable option.
